Faith Brown

Faith Elaine Brown, age 83, died Thursday, July 09, 2009 at Grandview Manor Care Center in Franklin. A native of Morgantown, West Virginia, she was a daughter of Fannie Kelly Palmer of Franklin and the late Harry V. Palmer. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Bailey Brown, who died in 2001; a son, Bruce Bailey Brown, Jr.; and a sister, Dolores Rial. Faith had formerly resided in Lansing, Michigan and Hayward, California, but had lived in Haywood County since 1945. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, grandmother, and great-grandmother. For the past 20 years, she managed the family business of rental properties and was a great supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Deborah Brown Strum and her husband, Melvin Charles Strum, of Franklin, and Susan Joyce Brown of Clyde; two grandsons, Brian Strum of Clyde and Bruce Strum and his wife, Julie, of Candler; and three great-grandsons, Bailey, William, and Addison Strum. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Brown and Reverend Dr. Michael McFarland officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:45 until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
