Fannie Burnette

"Loving Wife, Mother, & Grandmother" Canton – Fannie Kate Browning Burnette, 89, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native and life-long resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Edgar David and Mary Belle Buchanan Browning. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Denton, Leo, and Bud Browning; and four sisters, Lyda Woodard, Melita Underwood, Mabel Woodard, and Ruth Browning. Fannie was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, canning, working in their garden, farming, spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Blanton Burnette; one daughter, Suzanne Burnette of Canton; and three grandchildren, Lauren, Anna, and Lucas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Riverside Baptist Church with the Reverend Steve Frazier and Reverend Johnny Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
