Fannie Smith Parris

Waynesville-Fannie Smith Parris, 66 of Waynesville died Friday, December 19, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Reba Cabe Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband Rufus Parris who died in 1997 and two brothers John Smith and Paul (Jack) Smith. She had been employed at Jim's Drive In and Hazelwood Pharmacy and was of the Baptist Faith.

Surviving are, a son, Joseph Steven Siske and his wife, Robin of Fletcher, three sisters, Nan Freeman and Opal Sutton of Waynesville and Coleen Oxner of Clyde, a brother, Arthur ''Bud'' Smith of Winston-Salem and three grandchildren.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21st in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Reverend Phillip Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Dustin Siske, Jerry Gibbs, Kenneth and Shane Gibson and Howell Freeman, Jr. and Greg Freeman. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
