Fannie Paxton

Fannie Fish Paxton, age 95, died Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Canton Christian Convalescent Center. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Albert Walter and Iva Mae Green Fish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, John Paxton, Regan Wells, and Woodrow Paxton; one son, Charles Leonard Paxton; and three daughters, Nancy Rebecca Bost, Joyce Marie Gibbs, and Geneva Morancie. Fannie was a member of North Canton Baptist Church. She is survived by three sons, Troy Neal Paxton and his wife, Carol, of Portsmouth, VA, Bobby C. Paxton and ;his wife, Mary Lee, of Canton, and Max Paxton of Waynesville; one daughter, Janie Henderson and her husband, Joseph, of Canton; one sister, Agnes Snyder of Canton; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Caldwell and Reverend W.O. "Bill" Henson officiating. Burial will follow at North Canton Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:30 p.m. prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at the residence of 110 Bryson Road, Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Canton Community Cemetery, c/o Bobby Paxton, 773 Wagon Gap Trail, Canton, NC 28716.
