Fannie Shelton

Waynesville, Fannie McClure Shelton, age 82, of Belle Meade Drive, died on Monday, November 03, 2008 at the Brian Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Estus Andy and Rena Cagle McClure. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Forest McClure and one sister, Ruby Snyder. She was a homemaker and loved to work in her garden and roses and was a member of Pleasant Balsam Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, James Shelton; one son, Floyd Cecil Shelton and his wife, Joann, of Reidsville, NC; two daughters, Susan Ann Chappell and husband, David, of Norlina, NC and Betty Jean Green and her husband, Eddie of Waynesville; one sister-in-law, Bobby Jean Kelly of Clyde; five grandchildren, Greg Shelton and wife, Carolyn, Connie Parfitt and her husband, David, Jason Green and his wife, Julie, and Andy and Howard Eledreth. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2008 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby Downs and Reverend Jay Eastridge officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason and Eddie Green, Matthew Shelton, David Parfitt, Tony Sherrill, Richard Ruff. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
