Fay S. Brown

Fay S. Brown, 80, of Asheville passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Mission Hospital following a period of declining health. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Carl Shook, Sr. and Ruth Barnes Shook. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Royce Brown and her brother, Carl Shook, Jr.

Fay was a 1961 graduate of Enka High School and a former employee of Southern Bell.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Willis and her husband, Frank of California, MD; son, Robert Brown and his wife, Brenda of Candler; sister, Linda Blankenship of Knoxville, TN; aunt, Jean Sherlin; three grandchildren, Jordan Willis, Julia Willis and Isaiah Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Wells Chapel of Faith, Candler, NC with Reverend John Alexander officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m.
