Fay Howard

Fay Mathews Howard, age 87, of Valley Street died Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at her residence. She was a native of Martin, GA and the daughter of the late Charley and Bertha Reed Mathews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mack V. Howard, who died in 1993 and five brothers. She was a homemaker and a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Wines and her husband, Ray, Harriett Queen, and her husband, Jimmy, and Vonnie Lester and her husband, Charles, all of Canton; two brothers, Dean Mathews of Canton and Max Mathews of Clyde; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2008, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Terry Penland officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
