Fay Lee

Canton, Fay Dean Crumpton Lee, age 82, of Little East Fork Road, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at her residence. A native of Guilford County, she was a prior resident of Greensboro and Burlington before moving to Haywood County where she has lived for the past 45 years. She was the daughter of the late Onnie and Grace Shelton Crumpton and was also preceded in death by a brother, Warren Donald Crumpton. Fay Dean enjoyed traveling as well as dining out and was an avid flower gardener. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Fay Dean is survived by her husband of 61 years, Walter M. Lee, Jr.; daughters, Susan Trantham and her husband, Gerald and Terri Barry of Burlington, NC; two sisters, Jean Greeson and husband, Claude, of Whitsett and Linda Bryant and husband, Burney, of Elon College; two brothers, James R. Crumpton and wife, Shirley, of Snow Camp and Ralph Crumpton of Burlington; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. David Russell and Reverend John Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Yarski, Bill Messer, Gary Small, Jeff and David Greeson, Mike Hurley, Kevin Campton and Mike Dolata. The family will receive friends 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
