Clyde, Faye June Smith Barnes, age 83, of Thompson Cove Road, went to be with Jesus, Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. She was a native of Haywood County and lived in Jackson County for 20 years before returning to Haywood County. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Minnie Russell Smith and was also preceded in death by her husband, Weyman G. Barnes, who died in 1994; two sisters, Lavada Rogers and Velma Beasley and five brothers, Vinson, Lee, Brian, Clyde and Dewey Smith. Faye was very proud of her heritage growing up in Fines Creek. She was a homemaker, devoted wife and loved her family. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Clyde and enjoyed her Sunday School Class. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Hyatt and her husband, Danny, of Waynesville and Kathy Queen and her husband, Doug, of Canton; four grandchildren, Jason Queen, Jamon Hyatt, Ginny Mosteller and Sherri Melton and two great-grandchildren, Carson and Colton Mosteller. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Rogers and Reverend Dwight Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:30 until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times the family will be at 645 Thompson Cove Road, Clyde. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 107 Weaver Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
