Faye Ewart

Faye Clark Ewart, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 23, 2009, at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Richmond Pearson and Rebecca Tribble Clark. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Palmer Ewart and two brothers, Ray and J. R. Clark. She was employed with Silco in Sylva for seven years and Winchester Creek Country Club for 13 years. She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church. Faye stressed the importance of family and instilled family values in all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to whom she loved dearly. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She is survived by three sons, Ray Ewart and his wife, Pam, of Bethel, Lee Ewart and his wife, Brenda, of Sylva, and Ronnie Ewart and his wife, Barbara, of Leicester; three daughters, Hazel Thompson and her husband, Jay, of Candler, Carolyn Messer and her husband, Danny, of Waynesville, and Saralyn Southerland and her husband, Carl, of Bethel; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
