Faye Greene

Faye Sutton Greene, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at her residence in Hot Springs.

A Native of Haywood County and of the Fines Creek Community for most of her life.  She was the daughter of the late Vernon and Ethel Trantham Greene.  Faye was one of six sisters and two brothers; Eula Mae Greene, Fannie Mooney, Ralph Greene, and Lee Greene that have predeceased Faye and Doris Holt, Maggie Cole, and Evelyn Johnson survives Faye, and all reside in Virginia.

She was married to the late Robert Grady Greene, for 57 years.  In those 57 years she raised a large family in the Fines Creek Community.  Faye was like a mother and grandmother to many in the community.  If anyone ever came by, they never left hungry.  She enjoyed the simple things in life such as gardening, cooking, and canning, tending to her flower garden, and sitting on the porch watching her hummingbirds.

Faye is survived by two daughters; Linda Lindsey who is the wife, of the late Rufus Lindsey, of Canton and Nancy Church, wife, of Paul Church, of Hot Springs; three sons, Kenneth Charlie Sutton who had passed away and was the son of Charlie Sutton who was predeceased, Robbie Greene, and his wife, Cammie, of Fines Creek, and Mike Greene, and his wife, Lisa of Morganton.  She left behind 15 grandkids and six great-grandkids, and one special friend and caregiver, Janet Sutton.

Faye will be dearly missed by many.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2021, in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Seth Early officiating.  Burial will follow at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.

The care of Mrs. Greene has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
