Lake Placid, Florida – Billie Faye Steele Hamilton, 91, passed away at her residence in Florida.
Faye was a native of Knoxville, Tennessee and a daughter of the late Tyson Steele and Carolyn Turbyville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Hamilton, who died in 2000; a son, David Hamilton; and a daughter, Susan Hamilton. Faye was a homemaker and a former member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Hollywood, Florida and Lake Placid United Methodist Church. She and her husband vacationed here for 35 years at the Laurel Bank Campground in Cruso. Faye was very active in the United Methodist Church in Cruso.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Denise Hamilton of Mooresville; one son, Kevin Hamilton of Lake Placid, Florida; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 18, 2021 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Wilson Strickhausen officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
