Faye Swanger

Clyde – Faye Green Swanger, age 91, of Fines Creek, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at The Homestead. Faye was a native of Haywood County, and had resided in Brevard for 35 years, moving back to Haywood County in 1983. She was the daughter of the late Robert Wilburn and Reva Bennett Green. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Silas Swanger, who died in 2000; a sister, Mary Ferguson; and three brothers, Mark, Frank and Henry Green. Faye was a loving wife and mother, who lived for her family. She enjoyed planting beautiful flower gardens, cooking, reading and teaching the children's Sunday school class. She was a member of Fines Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Mark S. Swanger, Jr. and his wife, Susan; a daughter, Reva S. Hudson; a son, Austin Swanger and his wife, Kathy, all of Clyde; a sister, Blanche Swanger and her husband, Varnel, of Loganville, Georgia; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmy Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
