Faye Teaster

Waynesville, Faye Ledford Teaster, age 91, of the Fines Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 1, 2009. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Newton and Inez Duckett Ledford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Teaser, who died in 2002; a daughter, Bobbie Teaster Medford; and two brothers and two sisters. Faye was a homemaker, and loved her family and flower gardens. She was a member of Belmont Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen "Susie" Teaster of Waynesville; two sons, Bryan Teaster and Glenda of Hazelwood and Charles Teaster and his wife, Barbara, of the Fines Creek Community; two sisters, Lillian Trantham of the Crabtree Community and Lucille Munder of California; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2009 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Kenny Banks and Reverend Jimmy Trantham officiating. Burial followed at Fines Creek Memorial Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Kyle and Eddie Jordan, Randall Ledford, Johnny Trantham, Jerry Smith, and Martin Davis. A Celebration of Life was held at Belmont Baptist Church Fellowship Hall after the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Belmont Baptist Church, 55 Belmont Church Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
