Felix Howell Mease, age 74, of Pisgah Drive passed from this life on August 21, 2007, at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the son of the late Ray and Vera Howell Mease. Felix graduated from Bethel High School in 1951. He then joined the United States Air Force where he spent four years. He retired from Champion International with over 30 years of service. Felix was a member of Clyde Wesleyan Church where he served as the adult Sunday School teacher and served on the Administrative Board for many years. He was also a faithful member of the Pioneer Restaurant Coffee Drinker's Club and enjoyed the fellowship for many years. Felix leaves his wife of 55 years, Joyce Norris Mease; a son, Garry D. Mease and his wife, Diane, of Waynesville; a daughter, Linda Mease Carver and her husband, Robert Lee, of Maggie Valley. He is also survived by three grandsons, whom he loved and was so proud of, Robert Justin Carver and special friend, Amy Leatherwood, of Maggie Valley, William Chase Carver of Maggie Valley and Knoxville, TN, and Lucas William Mease of Waynesville. He is also survived by a step-grandson, Heath Carver and his wife, Sherrie, of Waynesville and a step-granddaughter, Heather Nicole Carver. He is survived by two brothers, Bobby Mease and his wife, Martha, of Waynesville, and James Mease and his wife, Dorothy, of Toledo, OH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews that were very special to him and visited him often. Also leaving behind a very special aunt, Hilda Gant of Canton and an uncle, Arnold Howell of Canton. A celebration of Felix's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August, 25, 2007, at Clyde Wesleyan Church with the Reverend Perry Hines and Reverend Douglas Smith officiating. Burial will follow at New Cruso Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. At other times, the family will be at the residence. Pallbearers will be Justin Carver, Chase Carver, Lucas Mease, Carroll Mease, Estel Henderson, Darrell Gant, Kelly Jones, and Wallace Reagen. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult One Sunday School Class of Clyde Wesleyan Church. Memorials may be made to Care Partners Hospice Memorial Fund, P. O.
