Flora Pendry

Waynesville-Flora Elizabeth Arrington Pendry, age 93, formerly of Vance Street, passed away on Tuesday, February 07, 2006 at Hillcrest Hospital in Simpsonville, SC. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Estus and Sallie Messer Arrington. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Pendry, who died in 1986 and one sister, Myrtle Marie Arrington Galloway. She was a retired nurse's aid at Haywood County Hospital, retiring in 1974. She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Morrow and her husband, Jack, of Simpsonville, SC; one son, Charles Lee Pendry, of Valrico, FL; six granddaughters, Debbie Morrow, Pam Page, Tracy Smith, Lisa Marie Pendry, Cathy Jo Pendry, and Ryan Nicole Gomez; and 13 great grandchildren; and four great- great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at East Waynesville Baptist Church, of which she was a member, with Reverend Carl Presnell, Reverend Claude Conard, and Reverend Josh Wall officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. At other times, the family will be 84 Vance Street. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the East Waynesville Baptist Church Children's Program, 175 Woodland Drive, Waynesville, NC 28786.
