Florence Davis

Asheville, Florence Connor Davis, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Mark and Mintie Woods Connor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry William Davis, who died in 1984; a son, Craig Davis; grandsons, Bradley and Matthew Davis; and several brothers and sisters. She was a former employee of Buncombe County Schools, where she was a baker, retiring in 1994. Florence especially loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family, as well as doing crafts. Flossie is survived by a son, Bob Davis (Lynne Whittimore); three grandchildren, Brett Davis (Bridgette), Brandon Davis (Kelli Lynn) and Brian Wilson (Rose), all of Asheville; and nine great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Rocky Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Michael Meadows officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
