FLORENCE B. O'KEEFE

Waynesville-Florence Brindmore O'Keefe, age 86, died Thursday, January 30, 2003 at Autumn Care of Waynesville.

A native of Minneapolis, MN, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Edna Blackburn Brindmore. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Brindmore and her sister, Charlotte Zinn. She was a dedicated artist and a lover of painting and fine art. She studied art at the University of Minnesota and was a student of Luis Busta, the well-known painter from Burlingame, California. She had given exhibits of her work at the Haywood County Arts Council and at the Haywood Arts Repertory Theatre. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Waynesville, the Waynesville Book Club, and Friends of the Haywood County Library.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert William ''Bob'' O'Keefe; a daughter, Lyn Laverty, of Homosassa, Florida; and two grandchildren, James and Kristen Laverty.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2003 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. W. Lyn Sorrells, Reverend John Christy, and Dr. Robert W. Blackburn, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the funeral home. A private family interment service will be held at Green Hill Cemetery.
