Flossie Ledford

January 18, 1923 — December 17, 2015

Clyde, Flossie Bell Smith Ledford, 92, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the home of her son. A native of Gadsden, Alabama, she was the daughter of Clifton and Lula Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband Reeves Ledford, who died in 1995; two daughters, Zella Kirkland and Ethylene Hatfield; and a son Phillip Ledford. Flossie graduated from Geraldine High School and later attended college in Jacksonville, Alabama. She loved working in her flowers, cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of Belmont Baptist Church. Flossie is survived by a son Gerald Ledford of Clyde; sister-in-law, Alene Smith, of Geraldine Alabama; as well as many grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Kenny Banks officiating. Burial will follow at Fines Creek Memorial Cemetery. Serving as pall bearers will be Scott Simmons, Kevin Pressley, Dale Haas, Dylan Bradshaw, Kevin Justice, and Cliff Traber. Honorary pall bearers will be Keith Hooper, Charles and Bryan Teaster. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time.
