Waynesville, Floyd Edward Conner, Sr., 86, of Hall Top Road, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at his home. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late John and Evia Reece Conner and was also preceded in death by two infant brothers and a son-in-law, Carroll Beck. He was a corporal in the US Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated Conner's Garage and enjoyed making fiddles and tending to his cattle. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Annie Smith Conner; five daughters, Joyce Beck, Katherine Cochran (Charlie), Martha Smith (Thomas), Mary Cogdill (Robert) and Libbie Shelton (Ricky); six sons, Steve Conner (Jean), Keith Conner, Floyd Conner Jr. (Cathy), John Conner (Tanya), Don Conner (Thomasine), and Michael Conner, all of Waynesville; four sisters, Leona Smith, Ella Mae May, Isabelle Norris and Helen Inman; three brothers, Lloyd, Troy and Raymond Conner; 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Barberville Baptist Church with Reverend Kristopher Estep and Reverend Ned Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Balsam Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery will Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville, and at other times, at the home.
