Floyd Gunter

Waynesville, Floyd E. Gunter, age 74, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Autumn Care. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Larry and Oberia Smathers Gunter and was also preceded in death by two sisters; Pauline Gunter and Faye Hawkins and six brothers, Lewis, Lloyd, Bob, Coy, Hughey and Clyde Gunter. He was employed by Wellco as a Mill Operator for 16 years. Mr. Gunter loved fishing, hunting, and working on cars. He was a member of Grandview Baptist Church. He is survived by three sisters, Ilene Vicarini of Baltimore MD, Irene Turner and Velma Gaddis both of Waynesville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2008 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Virgil Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in Crawford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times the family will be at 43 Playground Street, Waynesville. Serving as pallbearers will be nephews and friends.
