Forrest Glenn Pace, age 70, of Greenberry Street, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Haywood County and was the son of the late Earley and Birdie Neal Pace. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimbra Pace Wells; three brothers, Wendell, Winston and Earl Jr.; and a sister, Edith Summey. He was a graduate of Western Carolina University and served in the National Guard for 9 years. He was a member of West Canton Baptist Church, where he had served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. Forrest loved to sightsee along the Blue Ridge Parkway and enjoyed being outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pat M. Pace; a daughter, Karen Godfrey and her husband, John Godfrey Jr., of Arden; 3 sisters, Mabel Webb, Pauline Robinson and Geraldine Williams, all of Canton; and 2 grandchildren, Shaina Godfrey and Cody Wells. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2007, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend George Holley and Revered Bill Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
