Foye Ledford

Hot Springs, Foye Ledford, age 88, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at The Hermitage.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Wiley and Genie Cook Ledford. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Ledford; three brothers, Glenn, Jack and Hugh Ledford; four sisters, Gertrude Ledford, Gladys Trantham, Ruth Allen and Elvie Ledford. Foye proudly served his country serving in the United States Army and fighting in the Korean conflict. Foye worked many years with Joe Price Well Drilling and was of the Baptist Faith.

In all things I try to do, I want to do them just like you. I'm watching every move you make and trying to take each step you take. When I'm with you, I feel ten feet tall. I want to be just like you cause I love you Daddy with all my heart.

Foye is survived by his wife of 63 years, Catherine Ledford; daughter, Peggy Swayers, and her husband, Clyde, of Hot Springs; sister, Cora Lee Ledford, of Waynesville; brother, R. L. Ledford, and his wife, Polly, of Hot Springs; sister-in-law, Katherine Ledford; four grandchildren, Kelly Harvey (James), Heath Sawyers (Audrey), Derrick Ledford (Stephanie) and Matthew Ledford (Gina); eight great-grandchildren, Colby, McKenna, Kaysie, Sawyer, Spencer, Brayden, Cooper and Easton; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Carroll and Clara Askew.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Moore, Reverend Joseph Huntsinger and Reverend Greg Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Woody Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Heath Sawyers, Derrick Ledford, Matthew Ledford, Colby Sawyers, Keith Latulipe, Michael Ledford, Mike Justice, Robert Rathbone and Rickey Ledford. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Carroll Askew, Joe Justice and Larry Huntsinger.
