Frances Banks

Frances Marie Ward Banks, age 74, died Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at her daughter's residence in Golden, CO. She was a native of Haywood County but had resided in Asheville and Canton, NC and Delray Beach and Boynton Beach, FL. She was a daughter of the late Reverend Richard A. and Stella Blackwell Ward and the wife of the late Wiley George Banks who died in October of 1989. She is survived by one son, Wiley George Banks, Jr. and his wife, Becky, of Morganton, NC; four daughters, Starlette McCollum and her husband, William, of Monroe, NC, Bridgette Marcinkoski and her husband, Ray, of Lake Worth, FL, Linda McConnell and her husband, Kevin, of Valrico, FL and Amy Voehringer and her husband, Steven, of Golden, CO; one sister, Gladys Moore of Young Harris, GA; one brother, James Hyder and his wife, Donnie, of East Flat Rock, NC; and eleven grandchildren; Christopher Banks, Katie D'Annunzio, Alison McCollum, Laura McCollum, Douglas McCord, Robin Marcinkoski, Naomi Marcinkoski, Matthew Pollock, Kevin Pollock, Cody Voehringer and Emily Voehringer. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2006, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Milton Hollifield officiating. Burial will follow in Plains United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
