Frances Blankenship

Frances (Fran) Clark Blankenship, 84, of Waynesville, NC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2024. 

 Fran worked for American Enka, where her commitment to her career was evident through her 33 years of dedicated service. She then continued her work in sales at the phone company in Sylva, NC, during the mid to late 80s.

 Fran was a native of Haywood County and a member of the Allens Creek Baptist Church, where she served. Fran was baptized as a follower of Jesus Christ. 

Fran showed great love and dedication to her family. She is now survived by her husband of 47 years, James Blankenship, her stepson, Derick Blankenship, and his wife, Paige of Greenville, SC, and two grandsons, Ben and Carter, who attend Clemson University. 

Fran was preceded in death by her Father, Hardy Dee Clark, Mother, Lucinda Clark Sutton, and her brother, George Edward Clark. Their memories lived on in her heart, and she often shared stories of their close bond. 

Fran will be remembered for her kindness, her faith, and the love she showed to her family and all who knew her. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May she rest in peace. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Scotty Patrick officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. 

 The care of Mrs. Blankenship has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
