Frances Dixon

January 9, 1920 — June 13, 2005

Clyde - Frances Cooke Dixon, age 85, died Monday, June 13, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Talmadge and Annie Mae Haynes Cooke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred McConnley Dixon who died in 1996 and five sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Rosemary Sexton and her husband, Frank of Port Charlotte, FL and Marcella Bryan and her husband, Charles of Clyde; a son, Lowell Dixon and his wife, Velma of Canton; two sisters, Phyllis Mitchell of Weaverville and Barbara Macon of Fairview; two brothers, Ralph Cooke of Canton and Bobby Cooke of Asheville; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren and a faithful little dog, "Peanut". Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2005 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend Bruce Cayton officiating. Burial will follow at Old Thickety Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Canton. At other times, the family will be at 77 Autys Way in the Crabtree community.
