Loving Mother and Grandmother

Waynesville, Frances Avalon Stamey Henry, 91, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Autumn Care.

A native of Haywood County she was the daughter of the late Dill and Nettie Moore Stamey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Henry who died in 1991; children, J. C. Henry, Margaret Ann Pilkington and Roger Allen Henry.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Jean Massie, of Hot Springs; a son, John R. Henry, of Maggie Valley; sister, Margaret Hall; two brothers, Sam Stamey, and his wife, Juanita, and Ernest Stamey, and his wife, Ruth; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A special thank you to the exceptional staff at Autumn Care for all the loving care given to Frances.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Waldroup officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
