Frances Mason

Frances Troutman Mason, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Mary Thomason Troutman. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Mason, Jr., who died in 2011; and a brother, Kenneth Thomason. She was an avid reader and loved gospel music. Frances also enjoyed traveling with the Christian Tour groups. She will be remembered for her selfless nature, always putting her family before herself. She is survived by a daughter, Katherine Mason Southard and her husband, Jerry, of Canton; one son, Tim Mason of Canton; and two grandchildren, Hillary Mullinax and her husband, Brandon, and Megan Southard. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend James A. Meadows and Pastor Jack Shook officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
