Frances Mcgaha

Maggie Valley-Lillie Frances Roberts McGaha, age 77, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Dessie Berrong Roberts and was also preceded in death by a sister, Edna Jones and a brother, Clyde Roberts. She was a very active member of Dellwood Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for more than 50 years. Frances also enjoyed cooking and gardening. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Wilce McGaha; a daughter, Mary Ruth Sanderson of Rock Hill, SC; two sisters, Betty Grant of Kitty Hawk, NC and Burnice Henson of Eustis, FL; one grandson, Josh Sanderson, six nephews, and one niece. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Dellwood Baptist Church with Reverend Wayne Willett and Reverend Tracy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
