Frances Anders Miller

Frances Anders Miller, a native and lifelong member of the Haywood County community, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024. Born on August 10, 1931, in Haywood County, North Carolina, Frances dedicated her career to American Enka, where she served as a lab technician before retiring.

Frances's proudest accomplishments extended beyond her professional life. She was a proud member of the Disabled American Veterans and an active member of Morning Star United Methodist Church. Her commitment to service and community shone brightly through these affiliations. In honor of her memory, donations can be made to Morning Star United Methodist Church, 2535 Dutch Cove Road, Canton, NC 28716 in lieu of flowers.

Frances was preceded in death by her loving parents, Lawson and Verlee Pressley Anders; her husband, Richard Craig Miller, who passed away in 2003; her sister, Lucy Childers; and her brother, Lawson Anders Jr. She leaves behind a legacy embraced by those who survive her.

Frances is survived by two devoted sons, Gary Miller (Barbara) of Canton and Terry Miller (Barbara) of Candler; three cherished grandchildren, Danny Miller, Janet Robinson, and Jason Hove; five great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren who will carry forward her memory with love and respect. Additionally, Frances is survived by numerous other family members and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.

A Funeral Service to honor Frances’ life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Sarah McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery in Clyde. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. 

Frances Anders Miller will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, dedication, and service will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be touched by her presence.
