Frances Munroe

Asheville-Frances Foreman Crum Munroe, age 87, died on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 surrounded by her daughter and granddaughter. A native of Orangeburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Mason and Katherine Crum. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary C. Stull and Patricia C. Morris and a brother, Mason Crum. She attended Duke University and was a member of Myers Park United Methodist Church of Charlotte, NC. She did volunteer work with the Atlanta History Center. Lake Junaluska was a very important part of her life's history. She is survived by one daughter, Catherine M. Britton, of Asheville; one son, Colin A. Munroe, Jr., of Ambridge, PA; one sister, Katherine "Kit" Crum Tullis, of Lake Junaluska; one brother, Madison Crum, of Hillsborough, NC; two granddaughters, Page M. Porter and Catherine J. Munroe; one great granddaughter, Sutton G. Walker; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverend Woody Adams officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
