Waynesville, Frances Conard Phillips, age 83, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Haywood County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Norman Lewis "Jack" Conard and Jimmie Evans Conard. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Lucille Bradley and Ruby Conard, and her brothers, Herbert and Norman Lewis Conard, Jr.
Frances married her sweetheart, Ernest Phillips, and their 64-year union brought their dear daughter, Tammy Phillips (Vince) Bryson, into the world. Two grandchildren, Stephanie (Christopher) White and Anthony Gaetano; and two great-grandsons, Carson Conard White and Eli Christopher White, completed the family.
Frances had a 28-year career as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Ward Secretary at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A proud member of Woodland Baptist Church, she was very skilled at knitting washcloths which she happily shared with everyone. She was also known for making delicious homemade jams and jellies.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2021, in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Josh Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The care of Mrs. Phillips has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
