Canton – Frances Cornwell Rogers, age 80, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at The Homestead in Clyde. A native of Cherokee County and an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokees, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Elsie Timpson Cornwell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Rogers; one brother, Bryan Cornwell; one half-sister, Neta Reed; and two infant grandsons, Jason and Jermiah Lovingood. Frances was of the Baptist faith and a member of Center Pigeon Baptist Church in Canton. She is survived by three sons, Jimmy Rogers of Murphy, Eddie Rogers of Waynesville, and Terry Rogers also of Murphy; two daughters, Sue Lovingood and her husband, Larry, of Marble, and Marie Evans and her husband, David, of Maggie Valley; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Cornwell and his wife, Frankie, of Murphy; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Center Pigeon Baptist Church with Reverend Alan Blanton, Reverend Mark McClain and Reverend Scott Poole officiating. Burial will follow at Center Pigeon Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brent Coley, Michael Lovingood, Dustin Espinosa, Cody Rhinehart, Eddie Rogers and David Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffery and Wayde Lovingood, C. J. Miller and Adam Rogers. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home of Canton prior to the service.
