Frances Schmidt

Waynesville, NC-Frances E. Schmidt, age 74, of 83 Brendle Street, died Thursday, April 28, 2005 at her residence. She was a native of Albany, NY, lived in Haywood County for 10 years and had previously resided in White Plains, TN, Sebastian and Hollywood, FL. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Beresuk Gorsky. She was also preceded in death by a brother John Gorsky. She was employed by the City of Hollywood and Vero Beach, FL as a bookkeeper. Mrs. Schmidt was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church, Ladies Auxiliary of Waynesville Moose Lodge, and 1st Senior Region of the Moose Lodge of Hallandale, FL. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Alfred Schmidt, one daughter, Linda Frances Nervi and her husband Robert of Boca Raton, FL; three sons, Alfred Charles Schmidt, III, of Boynton Beach, FL, Robert Allan Schmidt of White Pines, TN, Glenn Brian Schmidt of Vero Beach, FL; one sister, Jeanette Gorsky of Colorado, two brothers, Paul and Richard Gorsky, both of Long Island, NY, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2005 at the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services with Father Dennis McGowan officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
