Francis Owens

Francis "Frank" Edward Owens, 79, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC. A native of Scott County, Missouri he had lived most of his life in Richlands, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Francis Edward and Bertha Owen. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rita Owens; a brother, John Owens; and a sister, Virginia Hamm. Frank retired with the United States Marine Corps having served during the Vietnam era and also retired as a security guard at Costal Carolina College in Onslow County, NC. He is survived by a son, Joseph Owens and his wife, Barbara Shook, of Waynesville; a sister, Donna Ford and her husband, Donald, of Texas; and by nieces Donna and Tammy and their families. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC.
