Frank Crawford

Asheville-Frank James Crawford, age 97, died on Wednesday, March 08, 2006 at NC Baptist Retirement Home.<br><br>A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Harley and Annie Messer Crawford. He was also preceded in death by his son, Edward, and wife, Jerry, of Maitland, FL and six brothers, Jerry, Wiley, Hugh, Horace, Howell, and Claude Crawford. He retired in 1973 from the American Enka Corporation after 44 years employment as an air conditioning foreman. He was also a volunteer fireman with the Enka Fire Department.<br><br>He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Opal Bryson Crawford; a son, Bruce Crawford and wife, Joyce, of Hendersonville; four grandchildren, David Crawford of Austin, TX, Scott Crawford of Cocoa, FL, Brent Crawford of Mooresville, NC, and Brook Lee of Orlando, FL; and seven great grandchildren, Megan Crawford of Candler, NC, Luke and Grace Crawford of Austin, TX, Morgan, Rachel, and Erin Crawford of Mooresville, NC, Steele Jones and Stone Lee of Orlando, FL; and many nieces and nephews. <br><br>Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Enka Baptist Church, of which he was a member, with Reverend Ron Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park in Waynesville. The family will receive friends on Saturday morning one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.<br><br>Memorials may be made to Enka Baptist Church, P.O.
