William Frank Ford, age 86, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Jesse and Ethel Clark Ford. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Troy Ford; a sister, Mary Neil Ford; and an infant brother, Luther Ford. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Frank delivered meals on wheels, worked the Santa Pal program at Champion, served on the board of directors with the North Canton Fire Department, and belonged to Champion Snug Harbor. He retired from Champion International in 1988 with 44 years of service and was a United States Army veteran during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nancy Owen Ford; two daughters, Luanna Easton and her husband, Mike, of Clyde; Robin Bennett and her husband, Frank, of Hendersonville; a son, Bruce Ford and his wife, Angie, of Clyde; three sisters, Hilda Brown of Canton, Betty Walker of Penrose, and Lola Yarborough of Canton; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Bruce Cayton, Reverend Ned Webb, Reverend Ron Allen, and Mr. Jason Trantham officiating. Burial will follow at Old Thickety Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
