"Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather" Clyde – Frank Hill Haynes, 93, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 at The Homestead. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Herschell and Flora Hill Haynes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Don Haynes; and a brother, Horace Haynes of Japan. Frank was a United States Army veteran having served during World War II. After Frank returned from serving in the Army, he served on the board of directors for Haywood County Social Services. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Bernice Davis Haynes; one granddaughter, Cynthia Haynes Mashburn; one great-granddaughter, Rachel Price; one great-grandson, Michael Mashburn; one great-great-granddaughter, Jamie Price; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Jim Edwards. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Daniel Gaddy and Reverend James Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Clyde. The family will receive friends from 1:45 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
