Frank Parker, Jr.

Frank Ollis Parker, Jr., age 78, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2010 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Frank Ollis Parker, Sr. and Ruth Collette Parker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Tootsie Allen, and a brother, Max Parker. Frank was a former owner of A & P Motors, a retired owner of Frank Parker Trucking, and a graduate of the University of Georgia. He was a United States Army veteran having served in Korea. Frank was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Linda Lucas Parker; a son, Frank Parker III (Brandy) of Candler; a daughter, Melissa Clark (Mark) of Winter Springs, FL; two step-sons, Jeffrey Blake (Patricia) and Alan Blake (Michelle), all of Canton; two brothers, Wallace Parker, and Dallas Parker (Doris); five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2010 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Barry Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
