Frank Tucker

Waynesville, Frank "Kenneth" Tucker, 70, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014. He was born on February 15, 1944 to Frank Tucker and Mary Shelton Tucker-Moody and lived his entire life in Haywood County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older brother, Davis R. Tucker. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Meredith Burrell Tucker; sons, Craig A. Tucker, and wife, Linda Lawson Tucker, of Cullowhee and Brett K. Tucker of Asheville; two brothers, Tom Tucker and wife, Ruth, and Samuel Moody, both of the Jonathan Creek Community; a sister, Carolyn Franks, of Canton; granddaughters, Meghan Marie Monaghan and Emma Ruth Tucker; and several nieces and nephews. Kenneth served in the National Guard as a Sergeant with the Military Police from 1971 to about 1978. He retired from Champion/Evergreen Packaging in 2003 with 38-years service. Kenneth enjoyed farming, watching NASCAR races and sports. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Barberville Baptist Church with Reverend Kris Estep officiating. Burial will be at Garrett-Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the church.
