Frankie Gooch

The "Angel Band" came for Frankie Louise Earley Gooch, age 68, on Thursday, January 24, 2008, at her home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Reverend Frank and Lura Wells Earley. She was also preceded in death by two infant sisters. Frankie was a member of West Canton Baptist Church. She graduated from Canton High School in 1957. She worked as a ward clerk on the first floor of the old Haywood County Hospital in the 1960's and graduated as a LPN from Haywood Tech in 1971. She worked as a LPN at Canton Nursing Home and at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Frankie suffered many medical problems and injuries causing a lot of trauma throughout her adult life. In addition to her husband of 43 years, Thomas Littleton Gooch, she is survived by two daughters, Samantha Renee Gooch Sellars of Clyde and Tammy Louise Gooch of Jacksonville Beach, FL; a sister, Zelda Adams of Canton; four brothers, David and Roy Earley of SC and Roger and Danny Earley of Canton; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Rich of Clyde; a grandson, Dustin Sellars of Clyde; a great-granddaughter, Kaley Rich of Clyde; and her loyal friend, "Carlos", the Chihuahua. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2008, at West Canton Baptist Church with the Reverend W. O. "Bill" Henson and Reverend Joe Steadman officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Saturday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Pallbearers will be Danny Earley, Tim Adams, Dustin Sellars, David Earley, Roger Earley, Lane Sisk, Bennie Williams, and Shawn Williams. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Canton Baptist Church Building Fund, 75 Lowe Street, Canton, NC 28716.
