Frankie Milner

Frankie Owen Milner, age 77, of Trinity Chapel Road, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Pauline Emerson Owen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald E. Milner, who died in 1999; two brothers, C.S. Owen, Jr., and Bobby Joe "Sub" Owen; a sister, Shirley Owen Dennis; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Ryan West. She was an employee of Bethany Christian Services and was a very active member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church. Frankie was an avid golfer and past president of Asheville Municipal Golf Clubs Women's Golf Association. Frankie was affectionately known as "Marmee" to all of her grandchildren. She is survived by four daughters, Debra Milner West of Barnardsville, Cinthia Milner of Brevard, Kathy Milner Casey and her husband, DeBow, of Franklin, Tennessee, and Deanna Milner Story and her husband, Mark, of Piney Flats, Tennessee; a brother, Bill Owen and his wife, Betty, of Canton; 16 grandchildren, Nathan West, Natalie Bates, Nachelle Mimken, Christian West, Noah West, Elizabeth Diggs, Lisa West, Jennie West, Nikki West, Joffrey Bagwell, Micah Bagwell, Kathryn Casey, Walker Casey, Emilie McGuire, Mallory McGuire, and Kara Wayman; 12 great-grandchildren; her longtime companion and friend, Bob Fisher of Asheville. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Matt Pruitt and Reverend Kim Milner officiating.
