Fred Gaddy

Clyde-Fred Andy Gaddy, age 71, of Leaning Oak Lane, died Thursday, October 9, 2003 at his residence.

He was a native of Buncombe County and was the son of the late Andy and Florence Banks Gaddy. He was a bus driver with the Asheville Transit Company for 26 1/2 years. He loved the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Mattie West Gaddy; his daughter, Ann Guthrie of Asheville; two sons, Mike Gaddy and his wife, Debbie of Asheville and Jerry Gibson and his wife, Sharon of Clyde; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2003 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The Reverend Jim McElrath will officiate. Burial will be at Fincher's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

The pallbearers will be Charles West, Ronnie and John Eldrith, Terry Fisher, Mike Gaddy, and Roger Guthrie.
