Fred Hill

Waynesville, Fred Everett Hill, age 66, passed away peacefully Sunday February 15, 2009 at the VA Medical Center of Asheville. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the son of the late Carl Vernon and Ruth Kuykendall Hill. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny and Bob Hill. Fred was a US Vietnam Army Veteran and was employed by Blue Ridge Paper. He attended Trinity Baptist Church in Asheville, NC. During his life time, he was an avid bowler and received numerous trophies. Fred's grandchildren were a very special part of his life whom he loved very much. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Lynda Bryson Hill; one daughter, Lori Chambers, of Waynesville; two sisters, Doris Ledford, of Waynesville and Patricia Fisher of Sylva; four grandchildren, Brent and Caitlin Chambers, Halley Phillips and Nicholas Hill. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at the WNC State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain with military honors conducted. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
