Freda Blanton

Waynesville, Freda Jane Blanton, age 76, went to be with her heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Autumn Care. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Dennis Wheeler and Brunell Williams Worley. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Joe Blanton and a brother, Doug Worley. Freda was a member of Woodland Baptist Church and her life was revolved around her faith and family. She retired as a Vocational Director with the Macon County Schools. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jim Blanton; a brother, Harvey Worley (Linda), one grandchild, Todd Blanton (Karen), and one great-grandchild, Brody Blanton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend David Williams officiating and eulogy by Wilda Medford. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodland Baptist Church Building Fund, 545 Crabtree Road, Waynesville, NC 28785.
