Freda Carver

Freda Brookshire Carver, age 73, died Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Johnson City Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, TN. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Alma Howell Brookshire. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Carver of 45 years, who died in 2002; a daughter, Donna C. Ferguson; and a brother, Jack Brookshire. She was a member of Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church. Freda loved and cared for her husband and children. She is survived by a son, K. Douglas Carver of Greenville, TN; two sisters, Betty Napier of Waynesville and Arti Yavorsky of Birmingham, AL; a sister-in-law, Helen Brookshire of Canton; and two grandchildren, Heather Evans and Shad Ferguson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2008, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend James M. Armstrong officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park.
