Clyde – Freda Hipps Queen, 86, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.
Freda was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Chester Jack and Marie Moore Hipps. In addition to her parents, Freda was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Queen, who died in 2015. She was a 1951 graduate of Clyde High School and then Blanton’s Business College.
She is survived by a daughter, Lauren Burress; a son, Robert Derek Burress (Chris); two sisters, Rita Chambers (Frank) and Katy Russell (Vernon); five grandchildren, Yancey McFarland (Cody), Shaye Morrow, Sarah Morrow, Chase Morrow and Morgan Suttles; two great-grandchildren, Knox Rogers and Nash McFarland; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Fincher’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing will be observed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Silver Bluff and also, Dr. John LaFata for providing her exceptional care.
