Frederick Beam

Frederick Dale Beam, 63, of Fairview , went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 21, 2009 at Mission Hospital . He was the son of the late Lewis Wade Slagle.

Mr. Beam was of the Baptist faith and served in the US Army for 9 1/2 years during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart after being wounded. He was the owner of Beam's Landscaping in Fairview and after health issues started a produce business at the Farmer's Market.

Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Barbara Sue Beam, three children, sons, Lewis Dale Beam and wife Diana of Fairview, Christian Dale Ray Beam and wife Lisa Louanne of Fairview , daughter, Sherry Lynn Stroupe of Weaverville, 8 grandchildren, Craig and wife Shannon, Corey, Delilah, Hunter, Christina, Seqouyah, Cheyenne , Sierra and 12 brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services will be held 11AM on Tuesday in the Chapel of Faith at Forest Lawn. Entombment will follow at the park. The family will recieve friends on Monday evening from6-8PM in the Chapel. Military Honors will be provided by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team.
