French Blanton

Waynesville, Margaret French Price Blanton, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2008. She had been a resident of the Brian Center since October 2005. She was born December 30, 1921 in Badin, NC and resided in Haywood County most of her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd A. Blanton who died in 1986. She was the daughter of the late T.N. Price and Mary Miller Price. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Cordell, Joe, and Bud Price and sisters, Clara Hunter, Hazel Marcus, and Mildred Crawford. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and Nana and worked for many years at Smith's Drug and Russ Wood Drugs. She was a long-standing, very active member of Hazelwood Baptist Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David Rickey and Nancy A. Blanton of Waynesville, her daughter Katherine Marie and Arthur Roger Belt of Sevierville, TN; her granddaughter, Robyn E. Blanton and fiancé D. G. Owens of Fairfax, VA; two grandsons, David Lee Blanton and Stephen Lloyd Blanton, both of Waynesville; a step grandson, Jeffrey T. Belt, of Merritt Island, FL; one sister, Vera Crawford and one sister-in-law, Ada B. Moore, both of Waynesville; and dearly loved nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2008 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
