Gary Green

Gary S. Green, age 52, passed away Monday, December 8, 2008 after a brief illness. A native of Haywood County, he resided in Tignall since 1998. He was a son of Clara Johnson Green and the late Roy Green of Tignall. Gary was employed by the state of Georgia Department of Corrections. He was the previous owner of Four Seasons Sports store in Sylva. Gary was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed all outdoors activities. He is survived by a daughter, Tara Green of Canton; two sisters, Joyce Green Jennings and her husband, Lee, of Flat Rock, and Patsy Green Hagood, and her husband, Larry, of Canton; a brother, Danny Green and his wife, Julie, of Bethel; a special friend, Karen Moore of Washington, Georgia; and three nephews of Canton. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 13, 2008 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Canton. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Patsy Hagood, 209 Academy Street, Canton, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721 or to the American Cancer Society, 90 Stiles Road, Canton, NC 28716.
